What I like about this is the impending action that can be felt in the picture.
Despite the fact we can't even see Chell's face, we still get the impression that she's glaring at GLaDOS, preparing to smack that better-than-you AI down for the count. This is just the last tense few moments where Chell can finally put a face (of sorts) on her adversary before battle begins.
I even like the way she's carrying the portal gun. She's not stunned in shock, she's clenching in in preparation.
And, of course, the detail you put in GLaDOS is just fine as well, along with her 'staring' back at this unruly test subject.

In giving it a morality, but not a proper understanding of compassion, it became the twisted monster most people see it as
And with no compassion shown back, I really feel sorry for GLaDOS. Sometimes, I can hear the sadness in her voice..
All that aside, I find this a really great picture of GLaDOS and Chell, 'eyeing each other up'

I'm almost less scared of the red eye, actually. At least this eye has overt evil and emotion. The rest of the game is scary in its lack of emotion and humanity. That's what scared me most about it, the deprived environment and the isolation were the creepiest parts. And the music helped with that a lot! It's so ambient that you're barely aware of it, so it just fills you with this feeling of dread.

I know... I suppose the fact that overt emotion is shown is part of why it creeps me out. I'm weird like that sometimes. I'm more used to distancing myself from things, so things like that freak me out. Case in point, we spent the night on an old battleship that had been turned into a museum when I was younger, and I kept removing myself from the group to wander around alone.

Maybe the overt emotion scares me, too. GLaDOS is somewhere between alive and emotional and cold and robotic. It's hard to describe.

Her aim was to kill Chell, and in that she lost, and her current form was all but blown up. However, it was a minor loss, and she herself says that she's glad she lost because 'look at how much we've learned'.
It would be like saying she lost the battle, but did not lose the war.

Ohhh.... I thought the leading theory was that when she passes out or whites out, she dies. But I didn't think so, and I didn't like that theory. I think Chell got out, and the room with the cake and the copies was just to show that you can't really kill GLaDOS, or that you only killed one of her.

XDD Oh, no! Although that would've been a kick in the teeth for Chell - you worked so hard and you finally see the sky again BUT THEN YOU DIE.
I can prove against that theory - on Wikipedia, VALVe said that you escape 'hurt enough to pass out, but still alive'.
I agree with that last sentence, however. I agree with it completely. 'Ahh... the cake ISN'T a lie... I'm just never going to get any.'
