Description
KirkjufellIceland
Kirkjufell is one of 'the' landmarks in Iceland that photographers rightfully flock to. It is a conical shaped mountain on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula on the far west of the country. The nearest town of Grundarfjordur is a beautiful town set in a bay. A few kilometres away lies this mountain with a beautiful small waterfall nearby that tends to dominate compositions of images taken with this mountain. The weather was not kind to us on both of our visits to the area, however, on the last evening in the area, the skies cleared beautifully to provide us the opportunity for this image.

Aren't you living in Australia?
But yeah, it's pretty much white hell right now in the north, like here in Canada. XD

Beautiful For me the little pink flower in the foreground makes the picture. It looks a bit like the " thrift / sea pink" we get in Cornwall but here that flowers in May/June.

it's actually not a very high mountain and from a different aspect, it doesn't look quite so difficult to climb I Think
