Description
Durbar SquareKathmandu
Marianne and I have just returned from a wonderful trek to Annapurna Base Camp. In the few days prior, we had the opportunity to wander around Kathmandu partly by ourselves and partly with the intrepid tour group we were with. Taking this shot was definitely not with the group or they would have gone insane waiting for us ! Durbar Square in Kathmandu is located 15 minutes walk from the main tourist district of Thamel and this particular spot is a favourite for children to run through and scatter pigeons. Livestock of all sorts roam the area too especially since we were there during the Dashain festival.

Very nice, I like the sense of chaos from the motion blur.

This is a very nice photoshoot. ^^
I loved it when I was a little kid and run through a huge flock of walking pigeons and get them to fly off.
But it's cool watching them fly as well. Makes you wonder where they'll head off to in the wide sky.
I kinda found a little funny thing about this picture though.
You see all these dark grey pigeons, but then randomly there's one or two white ones in the flock, too, lolz

Incredible picture! The birds taking off are beautiful, but also the little girl in the background looks like she's having a blast!

it's pretty hard taking something at the right time isn't it - I stuck around for about 30 minutes waiting for the right moments breathing in pigeon poo lol
