Another shot from the base of the Pinnacles in June this year when the weather was wild, swell was up - challenging conditions but a great reminder of nature's powers. You can access this area from a turn off to Cape Woolamai. From the farthest car park it was about 45 minutes pleasant walking (in the right conditions). Only the last part is tricky going down a slope in the muddy conditions.

yeah this is a total wow factor. The mildly slow shutter speed really is nice and allows the crashing wave to retain some detail while smoothing it out. And that is what I'm loving. And the colors in the sky, and the rainbow, and the smooth, wet rocks, and the well balanced dynamic range. Very lovely shot

I hear ya there. I like getting rivers with debris in them around that. Like your photo shows, it really helps retain some detail in the water, yet gives it a really nice smooth effect. The best of both worlds.
