Description This is actually about two weeks old, now, but still pretty relevant. A lot of cartoonists have been doing gags recently about the stimulus bill and how the burden for it will fall on future generations–which, while a valid concern, seems to ignore the fact that doing NOTHING right now could be just as bad for them, if not worse. Those who aren't totally oblivious to anything more than talking points have gone a bit further to point out the hypocrisy of many of those criticizing the bill, despite the fact that they supported the war in Iraq.

In any case, it's a cliched approach (I even did one kind of like that last year with President Bush), so I wanted to come up with something a little more original and visual. So I got to thinking about the topic at a sustainability lecture, and this cartoon was born.

I thought about coloring it, which was one of the reasons I took so long to share it here, but ultimately couldn't find the time.

If supply side economics hasn't work once, why do the Republicans still think it will work again? Never vote Republican for ANY issue.

Crazy thing? By Jenga physics, the Republicans are about to lose... (That particular play NEVER WORKS.)

Very clever, and a great way of depicting the situation.
