Something a little different from my fractal fare.Agent Smith of the Matrix here is trying to make sense of the enigmatic Jones, teacher from Gunnerkrigg Court. He's doing about as well as the rest of us Gunnerkrigg readers, as Tom Siddell isn't very forthcoming with clues about her.
While I put my details into the two fighters themselves, I was a little lazy about the background. I wanted it to be fairly environmental. Both the Matrix and Gunnerkrigg Court have their share of old, bricky, run-down buildings, so I thought it best to merge the two worlds' environments on this one. Gunnerkrigg is known for its "crack"-y backgrounds as Tom Siddell must have a "MUST DRAW CRACKS AND CRUMBLIES" fetish or something with his environments.
Anyways, enjoy. I'll try to get some more fanart up sometime soon too, as the drawing urges are back as well.

Check out Gunnerkrigg Court - www.gunnerkrigg.com - it's a webcomic by Tom Siddell. It'll make the most sense if you start from the beginning. Jones is a character in it.

Read Gunnerkrigg Court from the beginning on through the archive. You'll meet her. She is a mysterious teacher at the Court, about whom the readers have insane amounts of speculation.

Yeah, I'm hoping for more on Jones too. I don't think she's a robot. I think it's much more complicated (and interesting) than that. Dunno. The chapter seems more focused on Annie than Jones at this point...

This is great. Both the Matrix and GC are awesome.
You could probably draw parallels between the two works all day. A flying character, the Agents and the Gold Buttons, a fake world, machines etc.
And the fact that Jones has the surname of one of Smith's fellow Agents from the movie AND is emotionless to the point of calling her a robot becoming almost a meme in the forums probably doesn't help any. 8D

One of the Gold Button guys chasing Jack in the early part of the current chapter worked so much Smith I figured it had to be his last name. It's the one who showed up going "Damn!" just as Jack jumped out of a window.
And yes, Jones seems so much like an Agent it's freaky.

And theeeeeeen we find out it's a girl. D8 Wow. Also the robots from the last page of Spring Heeled have red eyes, just like...almost every sci-fi story involving robots ever.
Maybe she was affected etherically somehow?

Wouldn't surprise me. Except she can't use a blinker stone. That's why I figure cyborg. She seems too human to be purely robotic, but too robotic to be purely human.

Yeah, probably. The fact that he doesn't outright explain what Jones is, is telling enough that he's probably going to surprise us. Then we're going to look back and go "Ohhh, you know what? That made perfect sense, and all the signs were there, and we just didn't see them for what they were." Heh. That's Mr. Siddell for us, obviously.
