Description
Finally. Apo and I finally found a fractal I could get along with enough to make the "solar flare" effect that you see around a total eclipse. Otherwise I don't think this would've worked.Anyways, the fractal itself has not been altered in any way beyond a little blurring to take the jaggies out. The water, title, and everything else was done in Adobe Photoshop 7.0.
Enjoy.
Not sure what I'm going to do next. I'm running out of ideas, so I may parse out future elements of this series, or just start another one when the ideas hit.

Ah, an old one that I would never have seen if it hadn't been featured on the front of your page. I really should go through your gallery sometime.
Anyways, there are a few things about this fractal that I would like to mention. First, a small optical illusion makes the dark circle at the interior of the fractal makes the entire thing seem slightly lopsided. After I took a closer look, I found that that was not the case, but it does look that way.
I love the water. Pretty soon here I'm going to have to get photoshop for some of my pictures. Heaven knows, most of them could use a little reworking.
The fractal is a bit off center, but other than that, this is a wondeful piece. Congrats.

Yeah, centering can be a bit of a pain as some fractals have off-center elements....that don't quite show in thumbnail or zoomed out, or sometimes you don't really SEE anything close in...and you try to center anyways. Yeah. I get this sometimes...it's like I'll do my best to center, and WTF it *still* looks lopsided. *sigh*
I appreciate your commenting on this in depth. The water was the Flaming Pear Flood filter--which I need to reinstall as I had a reformat 2 months ago, and kinda got lazy about finishing with restoration.
Glad you liked this despite its flaws.

'tis a beaut And it looks FANTASTIC for a name of "fractal eclipse", it fits perfectly, incredibly awesome job
PLEASE say you'll put out a wallpaper version of this with just the fractal... or maybe a few variations (though one with just the fractal as well)... it's wonderfully balanced for a background.

Hmm...I might be able to work something out. I keep all the original renders on hand, so I could probably build a wallpaper version--although it'll be a little bit different from the tall-and-skinny version, because I'd have to rebuild it all over again with a wider format.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll see what I can do. Glad you liked this so much.

Awesome. This whole series was great. Very good idea blending landscapes and fractals, and you pulled it off very well.
props.

Well, I was thinking a Lavish dish of food, with a couple, candle setting, The soft candle glow accenting the couple while bring attention to the dish set-up... inside the circle...on the outside of the circle would be a masked night shot, of business lights, accented by palm trees and a coast line, finished of with a soft red sunset. All this masked of and faded out in the background, blending into the black....into a sort of lazy s shape...where menu items would go , or advertising writing....all this so the dish and romance would stand out first...LOL How's that for Advertising thought? LOL

Thank you. I appreciate your comment. Yeah, I was shooting for a more "real" eclipse effect, much like the sunset, the Aurora, and so on. Wasn't sure how real it was going to look, but I figured I'd do my best.
