I'll color these pages I think all at once, so the colors stay consistent from the first to the next.Anyways, this is the second installment in that Fish Out of Control Room story. I had the idea that it'd be great to show at least a passage of time, and some serious effort on poor GLaDOS' part to get by on the surface.
I came up with the panel secured to her back as a solution for the problem of running out of length on her extension cord - as long as those portals stay open, she has a nice power supply straight from her control room. ^_^
However, given her weight and er, considerable size, dragging herself along on the surface like a strange robotic caterpillar can't be easy. It also can't likely be comfortable. I figure after a while she is going to feel miserable enough to recant all her fatjokes, and promise herself a much slimmer chassis when this is all over.
Anyways Part 3 might be where I finally bring Chell in. We'll see.
Also, looks like I'm just drawing angsty stuff at the moment. My apologies.

It is an interesting thing, this whole "GLaDOS has feelings about Chell and won't admit to them unless pushed"deal. So I can see why you'd be fascinated.

All of my weight is necessary for proper functioning. There are no excessive components.
I wish Valve could see this (for an android GLaDOS in HLe3 or P3 so she wouldn't have to drag herself around like that)

Fraid I don't. You'd have to look for Karen Prell or Portal 2 concept art, I think. She was one of the animators on Portal and did the video as a presentation to a convention.

She could slither along like a big snake. She always reminded me of some snake that was hanging down from, like, a big branch up above or something, especially with the way she sways and occasionally jerks forward/back like a striking snake. XD

Interesting. I'll have to look at that some more, seeing as the tendency to describe a perpetually lying, passive-aggressive person as a "snake" would fit too.

I've had lemonade like that. Ick. One time it was very very cold and painfully sour. Had to buy a water bottle just to even it out. Bleugh. Thanks for reminding me. XD

Thanks. I came up with that a little while back, realizing the best way to solve the extension cord problem was to use a portal. The more I thought about it, the more I realized, the way to do it was to tie a panel to her back end.

Hmm, I should get around to doing this. But Page 3 hasn't really sorted itself in my head besides her freaking out about a bird landing on her, and somehow coming across Chell at the same time. I'll work it out eventually. XD

Heh. Yeah I imagined this weird caterpillar motion, with the back end slowing her down considerably. And I have this hilarious mental image of her head periodically poking up above the wheat stalks to peer around before going back to the grindstone. Heh.
