Description
I wanted to create something in the 3D Apo hack that wasn't a Grand Julian. It was just me being bored one night, and fooling around. I got this as a result. It reminds me a bit of a rock falling into a pond, leaving ripples in its wake--hence the name.Apo3D hack for the fractal, Photoshop CS2 for the slight levels, cropping, and title/border.

You're still a lot of fun to watch. I should get that little program and make myself some fractals.

the circle is crystal clear. love that. I try making ball shape with apo and mine never comes out nice. the rest of the image looks fine. like looking at some offering

And note: do that on first transform. It will put your bubble dead center of the fractal and build the rest around it. It's the core of Bejeweled II, the 3D Grand Julian I did.
I'm not exactly certain how people like `xero-sama and such duplicate the bubble itself in those other fractals that have tons of tiny bubbles. But at least I know how to make one.

Ball shapes in Apo work best in 3D, but the latest version Apo I think you can pull it off as well becuase the 3D's pre_blur variation is now in the current version. Basically you get that shape out of bubble, and pre_blur, and tinkering with the values of both in the Variations area of the triangles editor. I hope that helps.

It's oddly purply, blue.
I like it, it has this tranquil feeling to it, and it's extremely nice.

Thank you. Yeah I mixed in a bit of purples and blues, mostly becuase I didn't want a solid monochrome gradient, nor did I want one that was all over the place.

Thanks. I'll work on doing some more 3Ds...the program's rather inviting, despite my being a bit clueless at times on how to get certain effects. But I've always done well learning from tinkering.

Yeah, I'll do that. I figured out how to do GJs from Julian Revealed. Very good GJ tutorial that. Never tells you more than you need to know, but just enough to suggest you could tinker away with it.

Thanks. I figure there's a couple of ways to see this one. The water thing was just my interpretation, and it doesn't quite hold up to that, so...yeah.

Hrm, strangely soothing. I rather like it.
Now I'm inspired to go off an make some water based 3d thing. :>

Hehe, let the inspiration carry you along...it wasn't really me, it was just...the inspiration.
