Gabriel excitedly tells Leo a story about some weird situation he got into with his siblings and friends when they were teenagers. This was during the period where they were basically homeless and in hiding after Lisa was murdered and were constantly having to fight for their lives. Their situation was definitely rough but for universe Y it wasn't too unusual.

Since Leo's from Universe X it's hard for him to see the humor in all that and he's more horrified that Gabriel experienced all that at such a young age.
