Hey guys! Sorry for the severe lack of activity. I'm on my third quarter right now and I've been busy as heck;; Comics are a lot of hard work manAnyway, since people often wonder how I go about cel shading, I created this quick process/tutorial thing of something I just recently finished. Hopefully it's helpful!Β
I've also been drawing a lot of Handsome Jack; hopefully I can compile enough to create a dump and post it here.

Thanks for this! I had hardly ever done much shading before this, and just seeing the first part about shading with color gave me a lot of inspiration! For the βsparklesβ or gradients, I just did an orange to purple straight gradient, but it still looks good! Thanks again!

This is AMAZING! For years I have sucked badly at shading and I could never figure it out. I tried looking up other tutorials and they never really worked well for me. I never understood them. But this, this taught me new and easy techniques that I never knew about and it was much easier to understand/read than the others! Thank you so much for this, it was very, VERY helpful and although my shading still isn't the best, it already helped me a bunch! Makes a WHOLE difference for my drawings! Thanks!

I got to step 2, I put the layer above my lineart and fill it with white. However everything is now white and I cant see my line art below unless I disable it

You just creat a new layer on top of the other one and click the alpha sign (between the lock and the transperency sign), it's called "inherit alpha".
This will inherit the alpha of all layer in that layer group that are below the inheriting layer. To just inherit the alpha of the layer directly below just create a new group layer and just put your 2 layers in it!

This is great! Thanks for your guide to cel shading. I was wondering whether the process differs for darker skin tones. What would you use instead of the peach colour for your shadows?

The process doesn't differ, really! In most cases, I keep using the peach. If anything, I can tweak the hue to a darker peach or go so far as to make it purple. Personally the skintone doesn't affect the process, but the color you use for shading on the multiply layer should be adjusted depending on the overall mood of the image. I hope I make sense??Β
