Description 2017/07/27 I made another tutorial but it's far more advanced than this one: New Tutorial

================
A simple (maybe) cell shading tutorial for SAI~ xD
hope you enjoy it and understand it, cause my english are so bad. ;;3;;
I rarely coloring cell-shading using SAI, I always used photoshop. this technique usually I use to make a quick and simple coloring, while phtoshop is for the detailed coloring.

last but not least, I'm still an amateur artist that needs to be critiqued to improved. so, don't hesitate to critique or comment this piece.

(P.S for azusami hun, daku pinjem aotorinya ya, abisnya warna rambutnya asik buat di shading >3< //slap)

Coloring model Victim:
Aotori (c)

Lineart: i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g… (in case if you want to try this tutorial xD)

Its fair to say the least, I'm not the kind of artist who would view other peoples tutorial of how to do something because I'd prefer self discovery. You have definitely covered the basis of the art cell shading i suppose, but in the end its up to the artist whether he/she decides to mimic whats displayed in your tutorial. And your comment on using a mouse to draw line art , was very very very true. LOL . Self Experience. Also what kind of tablet do you own? Im asking because I noticed the lines on the character drawn seem rather straight than the *(piece of crap)* vistablet penpad I own.

Hello, thank you so much for the critique yep, that's true, I like it more if other people tried this tutorial in their own style.Β

I used Wacom bamboo pen btw, is vistablet that bad? :'D

Woooh! This is the first time I finally understood the basics of cell shading colouring!
I watched a lot of tutorials before this one, but I never get enough infos!
insteda yours is perfect, you did it in a simple way so that everyone who is used to different colour techniques can understand! You followed avery single passage ste-by-step adding a lot of sample images and you managed also to disposed them as well to make the reading easier.
The colours you choose with background and writings are really well matched and I felt really comfortable while reading it.

Really good job! I hope that this tutorial will help me also in the practice!!

Paint Tool SAI, or SAI for short, is a program meant for making digital art such as seen in the tutorial.
You have to buy it though unless you can find a free version online.

NEVER try and download the "free" versions. They can do serious damage to your computer.

That's a good point, but I found a link that I technically didn't have to download and I never got any viruses or damage either
and i've had it for 2 years now

but i will still say you have a good point

I can't find a tool called just "water" in SAI, only the Water Color pen. How did you get it?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BronyKor In reply to luigiluigi1234 [2014-11-22 19:40:20 +0000 UTC]

it's the same he just renamed it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

I-am-Ayla-Cat In reply to BronyKor [2016-11-02 15:49:28 +0000 UTC]

there is actually a difference between the two as the water colour tool doesn't have the nice blended affect that the water tool has. It is actually a modified version of the water colour tool.

Hello, first of all, great tutorial! Are you an Indonesian too?

By the way, I noticed that his face skin changed a bit yellow-ish in the step 3, how did you do that? Because mine is still with its reddish looking skin.

Any help will be appreaciated!

Rock on!
