Description Next installment of my tutorials/hints/tips/cheat codes/ect.

I wanted to do a basic cell shading tutorial. A lot more can/does go into my cell shading, however, before all that jazz, I wanted a base.

I tried to keep it with as little words as possible, but it tends to get a little wordy toward the middle and end.

The Grouping that I use in this tutorial is not a necessary step. So, if you're using a program that doesn't have grouping, don't worry. Grouping just keeps you from going outside of your base color.

Anyway, the usual : If you have any questions, please leave them here. If you have any other tutorials you would like to see, please let me know. Otherwise, I'm just going to go with the flow and create them as they pop into my head.

I don't have a tablet, is there anyway to get the pen pressure effect without it? thanks for the tutorial.

Unfortunately, I don't believe you can get the pen pressure effect without it. If you're using a mouse, it may be easier to use the pen tool to do line work. If you draw by hand then scan in, there's also many ways to clean up pencil lines (or ink) to make line art.

I have to ask a silly question, and I'm not sure if you could answer it. Where you group the layers together so you can't go outside the borders of the skins base colour, is that possible to do with Gimp or SAI art programs? No worries if you don't know, just had to ask to make sure.

I think that's possible by selecting 'Clipping Group' for a layer in SAI
