I did this right after the Battle of the Five Armies - mostly to assuage the crying (spoiler alert: it didn't help), but I also entered it in IMAX's Hobbit Fanart contest. I ended up being one of seven finalists! I'm very happy with it.
This is a 14x17 drawn with charcoal and watercolors.

Oh man, that's what broke me!! If anything was perfect, it was Thorin's last words.

Before going to see BOTFA I watched the first 2 movies. So his last words hit incredibly hard, since it paraphrased Bilbo's words at the end of the first movie. And then at the end when Bilbo sees his handkerchief... I stomped my feet in the theatre and hissed "I can't do this!!!"
My brother and my niece were the only other ones in the theatre... O_O so I could make my own commentary along the way.
