Description Character belongs to =DreamCyberium . This is simply a gift for him for being such an awesome person.

I didn't really anticipate Dauzul coming out in such a humanoid pose, considering the dragon in question is in fact a quadruped. But I do really like how the head turned out, and the colouring job is just sort of alright like always.

Traditionally drawn in pen then coloured in Painttool SAI. My favourite combo of media!

Thanks!
I liked the glow in =DreamCyberium 's original image so I thought to carry it over. And indeed, the picture looks very lacking without the glow.

Thank you. I've not really noticed anything, but I'll take your observation as fact. C:

I was looking at his leg but thinking about his head

Really, go back to some of you old stuff and look at how much better this looks. Beautiful.

Tell your brain to stop confusing you with its trickery.

I've looked but I still don't see any improvement. I guess it's because I saw the images from conception to completion and I just don't see the magical 'better' you speak of. I think I'm blind!

Oh, it's there. Trust me. I mean, look at [link] Myr and Dauzul. Myr's right wing may as well be a mohawk, while you can clearly tell which side of Dauzul is on which side :l
You know what, never mind.

Woah! Dawne, your stuff is amazing! And you did great with bringing out this guy's demonic nature! I didn't necessarily expect you to draw this character in particular, but nonetheless it looks fantastic as it is. Also, those claws are really cool, you do great with those. Thanks so much! You're such an awesome person as well!

There's quite a few awesome characters you have in your gallery, but for some reason Dauzul got me the most. I think it's the design of his head, with those three horns and the ears. I like the way they go together. It sort of makes him look... Angular. Like an arrow. Or a hook of some sort. I'm rambling now.

But I am glad you like it! He was a blast to draw, especially the head. C:

I guess he can be considered a dragon, but more with a demonic nature, but I can't really decide what he really is or not. He's from an alien dimension outside of our own. Also, he has the power of a gorgon. Phear.

Also, what kinds of characters do you roleplay?

M3DK1T In reply to ThylacoleoCarnifex [2011-09-05 00:46:54 +0000 UTC]

Well. I'll tell you it from the start. I used to roleplay on IMVU when I was around ten years old. Then it was innocent. I had an outfit that made me look heavenly, because I was a very impatient christian at the time. After a while, I got into very serious conflicts emotionally with people. I acted like I was something more the I could be in game. Eventually it developed to a point where I came up with a character who I thought I was. 'Kingdemon815' was the name of the new account.

So, I started off small. I rped, of course, some sort of tyrannic demon lord. A horned red skinned man who loved arguments and violence, but also a random woman he fought and nearly killed. She of course fell into a fantasy as much as I did. After a few years, I believed I was that person, A demon with unimaginable strength, simply bound by a human body. We talked about made up past lives, and compared each other to fictional people. (Cartoon characters, she had a thing for anime.) And this went on for a very long time, Until I got sick of being so powerful. So, I chose to change. I claimed that I was actually 'Kuro Akuma', Japanese for 'Black Demon'. My "True name" was 'Kuro Shinzo' Or Black heart. Of course, I didn't come up with it myself, my girl friend did. She had her gay guru friend try to figure out who I was, because I couldn't figure it out for myself that I was simply human.

So, another year passed. I left for a month for summer, to visit relatives across the country. (This is where I learned about Wow, from my cousin.) When I came back, she broke up with me, and the character changed once again. Now I was a vengeful serpent god who had power over sanity and the dominion of the mind. I was infinite and devilish, and full of hatred. (Mainly because she broke my little ol' heart by dating some guy who could speak broken only broken English because of his age.)

After a while, I confessed my love for her. (Which was all she wanted all a long, she craved attention.) And she came back to my side. Then the character changed.. AGAIN. Now I was Kuro Akuma, a powerful samurai who had a past in reincarnation. Keep in mind that I believed all this when I heard it and found out about it. I was a walking armory, insanely powerful and lightning quick. (Because I always god modded, No one could say anything because I would return them with an argument which I loved to do. I simply claimed that because of my character's super strength and a pile of horse shit, that I could easily defeat them. I also told them I was this in reality too. What a dumb mistake.)

Then I disappeared again, because I had Wow now. I played for around three months, taking breaks inbetween to talk to my girlfriend, who had been cheating with me when I wasn't there. In that time I switched to Forum rp. And continued god modding.

After that, I reversed. I went back to the original demon character, thinking that was who I was all along. Then that changed when I suddenly started having night terrors and such in reality. (Which I would explain as horrible changes, turning into a bear and such.) And used it as an excuse to explain my sudden change into a bear. Because people can do that. Just be a human until puberty and then become a bear. Which was what I wanted at that point. To be different physically, but still have the same feelings and attitudes. Which I thought fit a bear. (Because who doesn't want to be a giant brown terror?)

After playing along with that, and some more heartbreak with my girlfriend, we split. I went back to the serpent character, and met up with my girlfriend's social net. I found I had more in connection with them then her. And they no longer supported her, wanting to find out who I was more and more, then they wanted to find out who they where, and there was this massive talk about awakening and that 2012 was when we would all find our awakening, but it was all a bunch of bullshit that we fooled ourselves into. At this point I went back again to Kuro Shinzo. I played around with that until I got sick of it, claiming I only wanted to be a bear, not this god-demon who had control over massive kingdoms and had infinite power.

So that ended. And then I realized all of this. I was just hungry to be different. I looked at the friends I gained, and realized I had done something to them on a physcological level. I got them all to believe in the same things I did, and firmly. Slowly, I began to remove strand after strand, to help my friends return to normality. I got them to a point where they all knew they where human, but had a hand out in the waters of uniqueness.

Slowly my belief in the magic and power became a realization that It was all imagination and trickery. We all believed what we wanted to believe. We wanted to be more powerful and more important and all knowing, so we created these characters to be that.

I eventually quit the game, finding myself tired of playing. I kept changing my avatar because I had the credits to do so. And slowly it was just an excuse to go and troll folks.

After that I started roleplaying on Garry's mod. Then I did Lime RP, a Half life two roleplay. Then I moved on into World of warcraft, and I never touched roleplay again until I played a druid on Moon Guard. That's where real RP began. I started making limits, (Albeit very thin ones) and then full on walls. And now I've filled in those walls. I realized recently that to me, role play was just real life social connection, except with a more powerful person that is you. You can believe your this creature of power, but you will never be it. Sad as it is. And if your able to become it, then you where always it. And there was never a creature at all. It was just you.

I switched out RP for RL. I find connecting and talking with real people more enlightening and enjoyable then talking and connecting with people in a game world, where fights break out all the time, and arguments start over who is more powerful. In the real world, everyone is equal. Of course, you can always pretend to be unique, but it'll never be the reality.

Oh wow. Quite the story there.

It seems you got really into RP. Personally I don't really understand RP all that much. I create and I imagine but I've never gotten to such an intense point where I believe I'm anything other than human. Just... The odd little RP here and there to flesh out a character a bit, that's it. Probably explains why I get so bored playing D&D.

It's good to hear you got out of that delusion. Indeed, the real world holds far more intricacies than something made up any day.

While I hate even thinking about that past, I can't help but thank it for all it's given me. It gave me a massive jump start in using the computer, and it taught me a whole lot that I couldn't learn without a computer at my age. I'm only fifteen now, and look how far I've come.

The past is a very valuable learning tool, if utilized properly. And in this day and age a lot of people don't seem to understand that. They use the past as a crutch instead of a tool, blaming their mistakes for things that have long passed instead of using them to grow.

Honestly I thought you were much older by the way you type. Your words have a certain sort of maturity to them that I don't see any more. I've been cruising through your written works, as well, and I like the way you handle yourself. Indeed, for someone still so young, you've come a long way.

M3DK1T In reply to Delta-Hexagon [2011-09-05 06:15:47 +0000 UTC]

If you are escalated through your age by disaster and pain, then you 'mature' faster. I agree with you on a level you don't even understand on the bit about the past being a valuable learning tool.
I find the only way you can truly learn is by either experience, or the experience of others by speaking with them and finding out what they learned. Enlightenment is not gained through heavy study. It is gained purely through experience. Studying is the crutch of wisdom. It ties patches of experience together, and assists in it's explanation.

I still have a long life ahead of me, and I won't give it up easily. That much hasn't changed.
