As the title states. Just another alien that I decided was halfway decent enough to journey out of my sketchbook and into dA. I was playing around with anatomy, and I think it looks decent. Could have been so much better but eh. It's a sketch for a reason.Though, it kind of reminds me of one of those highly enlightened aliens from the Metroid series. The Chozo are highly enlightened bird people with distinct insectoid traits. The Luminoth are highly spiritual moth people with an intense love for the light. (WOAH, moths. I just got that reference.) So this thing looks like some sort of Alien that would help Samus in a future Metroid game. At least it does to me.
Done in pen, thirty or so minutes. I had fun doing it.

Three umbilical cords on this thing? Assuming from what the appears to be three-ish belly buttons. Neat idea.

I really have no idea. Maybe they're spiracles for breathing, maybe they're sensing pits. Maybe they're just indents in the stomach. Maybe they aid in some weird form of reproduction. I don't even know if its birthed live or hatched or comes into existence when the stars align with the center of the galaxy and send out a burst of cosmic radiation. It may not even be of this dimension. But that's a lot of ramble for some stomach holes.
So sure, they're belly buttons.

Today, I learned the word 'spiracles'. I feel special. I bet you could learn a lot about a person if you asked them what a certain alien organ was used for, like an elaborate inkblot.
Must also resist urge to play Metroid. Gaaah, mind, I'm busy damn it.

It's a great word, isn't it? There's lots of great words where biology is concerned, but right now I can't think of any. So I decree that next time I draw a weird alien thing you're more than welcome to ask me what its organs are for. Maybe you'll get some interesting answers. 
Oh god, are you a Metroid fan, too? I'm a huge Metroid fan. I've even got a Metroid fanfiction in the works that I'm hoping to one day see as an actual game.
