You're welcome!

Ooh, I love it too, and why yes I did make that face. How could I not when first seeing a pic of a grimacing toe with arms and legs~

Ah, your logic is impeccable. Scowling toe people do tend to evoke WTF faces in people. XD

this is the single most creepiest thing I've ever seen. I hate feet and you've managed to mix cute with gross toe...which gives my brain mixed signals. Which is probably the intended effect

There's a long story behind my toe people, too. It's up to you if you want to hear it though.

Delta-Hexagon In reply to Lyneel [2011-09-09 17:55:36 +0000 UTC]

Hokai!

The idea is that the toe people are an race of intergalactic thieves. They manage to get into all the worst professions, if you can even call them professions: pick pocketing, thieving, stealing, they get hired for mercenary work and many of them find themselves as bounty hunters, and the vast majority of toe people find themselves in the black market doing one thing or another. Their propensity to illegal things coupled with their habit of being none too smart, lands a lot of them in jail.

A very specific jail, actually. The largest in the known universe, solely for the fact that it exists in all dimensions at once. It's not uncommon to walk down a wing and see nothing but surly toe people imprisoned for various crimes. And the jail is run by exactly one person: Az'riyel, known as "The Keeper of the Toes".

But Azzy's not really the sharpest tool in the shed either!
You see, there can only be one warden as a time. Azzy is from a race of four eared bipedal cat people, the people who made the jail. And they hate running the damn thing, so they tricked Azzy, known for his stupidity, into running it, not realizing that by doing such a thing they doomed the jail. One day Azzy in his infinite wisdom listens to an inmate and ends up freeing him. Which then escalates into the whole jail getting free. And going to Earth of all places because at that time Earth hadn't been discovered yet.

So Azzy, because he doesn't want to lose the only job he's ever had, goes to Earth to try and get all the escaped toe people back. Thus ensues the most retarded thing I've ever written.

my, so entertaining! ^^ I had lots of fun reading this story I wouldn't bet toe people specialised at crimes that require flexibility, agility and... cleverness, well xD they don't look like pick pocketers, but they sure have suspicious, erm, faces xD
I m eager to meet more of your toe people + Azzy as well!
so interesting! ^^

Dragoon973 In reply to Delta-Hexagon [2010-12-22 04:08:00 +0000 UTC]

Ok. Well there is a scene in the movie where they are going to find Jack and they go through a part where it is extremely cold. While in this cold climate, one of the sailors rubs his frozen toe but he rubs it too hard and it breaks off.

I am looking forward to both, I loved Avatar.

Delta-Hexagon In reply to Dragoon973 [2010-12-22 06:45:17 +0000 UTC]

I loved it too, but sequels have a bad habit of being bad. Not all sequels, just most of them. Maybe I'm just biased. But Avatar was good and I hope the sequels are even better. Hell, Pirates had good sequels. I just hope the same can be said when Avatar's come out.

Dragoon973 In reply to Delta-Hexagon [2010-12-22 06:55:55 +0000 UTC]

Ya me too. Apparently, the second Avatar movie is supposed to be based on the waterlife of Pandora, whatever that means because I have no idea how that would key into a story.

Delta-Hexagon In reply to Dragoon973 [2010-12-22 07:06:57 +0000 UTC]

How odd. Interesting, though. I do wonder what Pandora's water life would be like...

Dragoon973 In reply to Delta-Hexagon [2010-12-22 07:23:47 +0000 UTC]

Exactly right, but I just cant find a way to how that would relate to the first movie's story.

This is a really cool concept, again. The lighting looks believable and I like that you haven't overcomplicated the design.

I love the fact that you just have the toenail instead of eyes. Nice texture in the toenail with the addition of flaws there. You have managed to get a great expression on the face using just the mouth. The mismatched teeth are a nice touch, too.

I like the wiriness of the limbs and the detail in the knees. The fact that the it has toenails.

The jagged outline of the creature is kind of distracting but they may just be the program you are using. I like the fading black in the background but the pedestal is kind of bland. That's just little things though since I believe the point of the deviation is the character design.

Delta-Hexagon In reply to hybridinsurgency [2010-12-21 18:37:38 +0000 UTC]

This image is more or less a screengrab straight out of ZBrush. I'm... Not yet completely sure how to eliminate artifacts around edges. It's a confusing program, for sure. Everything it does has a twisty route to get to it and sometimes its annoying.

No, you're wrong! The whole point is the pedestal, didn't you know?

I have plans for this guy. Some other images featuring a few of them and an overly complicated machine. It'll be made in a different program so there won't be no more jaggy edges!
