Description Keepin it simple tonight

I doodled the picture of the kid standing in the crowd and then wrote the poem around it. It was for fun as I've been quite bothered lately and this thought has crossed my mind a few times in the past week or so.

The world is so BIG and life is pretty LONG and I have to wonder how many people reeaaallly stick with someone in their thoughts for their whole life. Even if they only spoken for a month maybe.

Do you think you're making an impact on peoples lives?
With the way you act, dress or treat/help them? Why or Why not?

I always wonder this, and always hope so. But after leaving Red Lobster and seeing that no one went out of their way to contact me, I'm not so sure anymore. I've inspired people which is amazing, but I want to do more. I want people to see how happy I am and try to get to the same level of happiness, or beyond it.

That was pretty clever and catchy.

It did make me think a little bit, trying to recall strangers I have met before.

Great job.

Hmm... I'd think that it would be really interesting to be able to read about all the people you've ever seen in your life inside of a book- that homeless man you walked past 3 days ago could have been traveling in the Himilayas with a broken foot, or maybe that desparate woman on the phone could have been trying to order an impossible amount of beef patties. But anyways, tis' true about life. How many people are thinking about you tonight? ten days later? 4 years later?

I love it :l

I remember a girl I was friends with a few years ago.

Then she moved.

And moved again.

I remember her a lot now; it just seems weird that you can be best friends and years later they won't remember you.

Like, you can talk to them, laugh with them, maybe even cry with them, but do you change them?

I love this.

I often wonder this myself
and im a type of person if i meet someone i dont forget them, and i definety am a friend for life when i make one

i walk down hallways in my highschool and remember people i havent seen for 5 or 6 years and their names
i've tried talking to them but they dont remember me, except for one person who ended up in the same class as me ((i was surprized he did and i remembered him to, sadly he moved to japan))

but thats okey i have alot of great people in my life now, so i just let it go
besides something are ment to happen and some aren't just as some people remember other and some people dont

its ironic but a very successful college student told me to don't burn any bridges and try to keep in touch with friend because "you'll never know if the person sitting in front, back, and next to you will be your future business partner or your life partner"

I like to think that I leave some sort of impact on peoples lives, no matter how short of a time I've known them. I think about it a lot sometimes, wondering if I've made a positive or negative impact on that person, or simply wondering if they'll remember me somehow.

I know a lot of people that I've met who will probably forget about me over time, but I know I won't forget them, for some strange reason. For me, I always remember someone, and how they've somehow changed my life, but I usually think to myself they don't feel the same. Not exactly sure why, though

Anyway, really nice poem you've written there. I really loved this one. It's simple, yet it gets you thinking. Those are the kinds of poems I like

It's time like that I wish I turn invisible and could go to another dimension without me in it or in one where I may have died to see what it is I'm actually doing or have down for the people around me.

SteffenC-itsjustme [2012-08-18 17:49:02 +0000 UTC]

I know I'm making an impact on peoples lives, I always have. We all have. Some more than others, yeah, but we all leave our mark on the people we come into contact with.
I may not remember who did what or who said what to me in the past, but it has helped shape me and change me into the person I am today. That impact is everlasting even if I forget them. And the same goes for me, the impact I've left on others will always be there in some way, even when they forget me.

So, no, we don't always keep people in our thoughts throughout our life, but some times we end up thinking of them from time to time. My gf recently met one of the teachers she had in highschool, I believe, and this lead her to write a letter to all of the teachers who influenced her in a positive way. Now, they don't know this letter is coming their way, so when they read it it'll take them by surprise and I'm sure they will all appreciate the kind words my gf wrote them. They will know how much they have influenced a person, that she still remembers what they taught her after all these years and how great a teacher they all were to her and this will influence them in turn, it all coming full circle.
We all ought to show this kind of appreciation, because we all love hearing how we've helped someone to lead a better life and it's important to show it. My two cents.

Have a great day! (PS: wonderful poem ^^ Simple, but wonderful and it brings to light an important issue. Great job!)

That's what I always think of too. Will anyone remember me? I always think about others and always remember them now and then but does anyone ever do the same?
This poem reminded of my teachers particularly. They will always remember the students who have succeeded or the notorious one but never the ones who were neither bad or intelligent.

I really think about this all the time with people I know for a day and don't see them ever again. Even I just give them a compliment. Even if I just see people and and they see me. I always think that. Hopefully they'll remember me and maybe I did something to brighten up their day.

Life is long, and hopefully, I've impacted strangers in their life for the better.

I believe that you have an effect on everyone through actions or words. While you may not always stand out, you add to the memory in small sub-conscious ways.

I don't think i've really made an impact on anyone. I'm too silent for anyone to know i'm there. They always impact me though with even the smallest of things, like a simple "hi, i'm __". I remember anyone who ever says just a few nice words.

They seem small to anyone else but theyre big for me

Hm, good questions all. I would hope to have made positive impressions on people, even if they don't remember me. The thing is, we don't always know if we've made an impact, but the person we've impacted might remember us forever without us even knowing we did something that was just enough to keep them going.

Writer question: Why do you change your rhyme scheme halfway through the poem? Or, more accurately, why do you abandon a rhyme scheme entirely? It goes from rhyming to free verse with no clear indication of why.

The thought has crossed my mind before but then I remember something from my own life. I met these twos girls on the play ground one day. They just moved to my country and I had never heard someone speak like them before. I ask them why they had accents and one of them said they didn't. I did. I never saw accents the same again after that. One moment, one line stays in my head forever and changes how I think and yet I only met them that one time. So I think some people will remember you. Just not all.
