Description
No one knows how long I've been trying to get this to work, and suddenly it occurred to me: if you can't define the outside border and text color of a custom box use one that does!YOUR CUSTOM TEXT FOR INSIDE THE BOX HERE
*div>*div>*div>*div>*div>*div>*div>
Thanks to for submitting her version of code that worked below:
Your code as follows:
YOUR CUSTOM TEXT FOR INSIDE THE BOX HERE
Please note: Because you cannot set the colors of the custom boxes and they are pre-defined by deviantArt, the edging around this box will be the dark blue. When on another dark background, it does not show so well of course, but it may not work for everyone. You also cannot change the font color, this is just if you want white text inside your custom background box.
Example of what I mean: [link]
Please feel free to use this and enjoy! I only want to spread the message for those who were like me and have been wanting this forever! XP Also tips on making the code cleaner are welcome, I am no sage to CSS.
And remember: this is a subscriber only feature!
If the above code fails for you, perhaps try this one, too. Instead of /code I'll be adding /divs.
YOUR CUSTOM TEXT FOR INSIDE THE BOX HERE
To test, feel free to use this for link 1 or for link 2 but please only use it for testing! Do not actually use it for your design!

If you click the two links at the bottom, you'll see that the second link as a picture that's of a lighter color - giving it a transparent look.

Hmm... None of these allow you to use a semi transparent background like in your picture. I guess it's out of date?

nwn you forgot the
And also behind the second.
It might be the cause of the confusion for most.
Though I'm unsure if it'll fully work from that, just tossing in my two cents.

I haven't quite figured out why some people are having difficulty with it yet. It's the exact code that I'm using for that group, and it works fine.
What happens when you use that code? Can you send me a picture?
π: 0 β©: 1
hheavymetalheart In reply to DemandinCompensation [2012-10-21 04:09:18 +0000 UTC]
i used it earlier today, but from what i remember, the box doesn't show anything [no box, no text], just the background image.

Did you copy my code and give it some links?
π: 0 β©: 1
FireyFlamy In reply to DemandinCompensation [2012-10-01 03:55:23 +0000 UTC]
Yes.
[link] and then it looks like this: [link]
If I try to change the top part, which is responsible for the background, to the code which always works in my other custom boxes ( [link] ), it gets a little better, but still: [link]

Try putting in more text where there text goes here and show me a picture of it. Also, try uploading your pictures to something besides deviantArt's storage file, that might be affecting it. Like, photobucket, tinypic, etc.

Wow, huh. When you save it, it appears that way on your page too? Or is it maybe an error in preview?
If so, let's try taking away some of the code to see if any one element of it is causing a problem. Try this alone:
