Description
EDIT: Guys. Guys. A DD? I...there are a lot of things I just tried typing, none of which really fit the mood here. So thank you VERY MUCH ~MerelyMarquis and ^sphilr !It would be good to note that this is an older deviation, so the artist's comments aren't exactly...grammatically wonderful. So I apologize for that. I'm keeping the original entry because, well, I was quoted. (I'm trying to figure out what I was getting at, it's okay if you're confused at my odd word choices. Think "14 year old pessimist" and you'll get the idea.)

well, i wasn't too sure where exactly to put this, but i think it fits.
will independant thought not become obsolete? can we come back from out mistakes?
probly not.
watercolor and ink on cardstock.
robot and art copright me.
inspired from playing Rage Against the Machine on guitar hero with
i think i have a thing for twisted, polluted city scapes now.

Something that I can't believe missed the first time around... the wood grain effect you make on certain parts. That only adds to the greatness of this piece.

I love this so much. I keep coming back to look at it and think how happy I am it got a DD. The colours and the structure, the theme and the style, it all just makes me want to hug it. But then I'd look like an idiot trying to grab my screen :/

Ehh, I've done worse. Have you ever seen those '3D' picture things where you cross your eyes? Yeah, I've spent more time than is healthy making that face at my computer screen.
So anyway. Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words.

You did this when you were fourteen? Not too shabby.

Haha, thanks. This was in summer where I cranked out about a painting a day. Improved a lot from that, I think. Had a lot to improve on. It was fun, but never again, haha.
Thanks again.

I went through a phase like that with my writing when I was sixteen. I wrote at least a few pages every day of little short stories for a summer, and even until about December. I've had pretty much constant writer's block since then, though. :/

Yeah, I haven't gone back to this style in a long time. I mean it was fun and easy, but somewhere along the line I just became uninspired or apathetic about it or something.

Yeah, I was obsessed with crooked city horizons for a while there.
Thanks a lot!

Yeah, I used to paint pretty much exclusively on cardstock and cardboard because watercolor paper wasn't cheap and neither was canvas. There's kind of a trick to it, though, because it handles water quite differently than a granier paper does. But it also has a smooth texture that works out pretty well for smaller paintings or ink drawings.
Thank you very much!

Thank you.

this really reminds me of the movie 9, for some reason... it's an excellent deviation, tho. Good work!
