Description Applejack was standing out in the fields once again, just humming merrily to herself on the bright and sunny afternoon. Her peace however, was suddenly brought to a halt when...

*WHAM*
*SQUISH*
"Ack!"

A giant piston press slammed down on her from seemingly out of no where. The huge, cast iron press smashed the unwitting farm girl with tons of weight and pressure, pressing her hard against the ground and squeezing her thin underneath.

And just as soon as it came, it lifted of. As it ascended, Applejack's flimsy body stuck to the underside, rising into the air with it a short distance before peeling off of the bottom.

"Oooooooghhhh..." Applejack groaned as she began her descent.

Her paper thin body, now lighter than a feather, began to flutter downwards, wobbling back and forth and making cartoony whistling noises as she descended. She eventually settled on the ground, face down and flat in the dirt.

"...ouch" Applejack muttered.

Applejack simply lied there, helpless in her current squashed condition, and even more so confused. Where on earth did that giant piston come from? What was it doing out here? And what did it have against her?

===

Really short story here, but for a reason.
I felt like the writing in my gallery was making this little universe I've created feel a bit too connected and real. Like, there had to be a reason for everything happening. That's not what I really aimed for at first. I want my gallery to be like old, slapstick cartoons in which continuity was basically thrown to the wind and things just happened for apparently no reason at all (ie. anvils falling from the sky, steamrollers in places they don't belong, etc.).

So here we have Applejack being flattened by a metal crusher in the middle of a field for absolutely no reason at all.
Hopefully that doesn't bother anyone. I had a lot of fun with this animation. Even though it was pretty tricky. Funnily enough, I went into this one with the intention of it being easier than my last MMD animation. Needless to say, it wasn't.

That's not to say I'm never going to write longer stories, but expect some random, just for fun flattenings with equally silly writing every now and then as well.

Also, 2 separate HD stills this time!

That was a cute short story to go with this animation.
You were experimenting with Applejacks fluttering motion here.
I like her surprised expression during the fluttering.

Nice work! I'm rather curious as to the production process, I must admit.

It's kind of hard to describe, but here's what it really consists of.
1. Posing the model
2. Capturing the TF effect (posing the transform tool)
3. Animating movement by re positioning models across the frame board
4. Rendering and recording
5. Trimming and rearranging clips if needed
6. Conversion to a GIF format

This is really really good!

The only thing I'd really fault is, the camera should have followed her as she fell to the ground.

Thank you!
And honestly, I would have tried something like that, but that's a bit of a more difficult effect that I've yet to figure out.

I figured that was the case. I guess it just stuck out to me because everything else was just so good.

Yeah, trust me I tried. Maybe if I can figure out a better way in the future. But for now, I kind of like it for what it is.

We'll see where this goes for everyone. Can't say I have it all planned out just yet.
And an effect like that would be a bit on the difficult side for me right now. Still trying to figure out all of the intricacies of this complex tool.

Oh wow! You did it! You figured out how to make them flutter!...

Q u Q But...How? Not the Animation but to get the flattened to curve you know?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DepthDropper In reply to Catty-Mintgum [2016-05-17 17:53:11 +0000 UTC]

I used the Null bone that turns the character into a ball. I just move the ball back and scaled the size up to make her look pasted onto the ball at a curve. Then I just made the ball invisible with the "display" checkbox.
