My last piece for the upcoming “3NES” show at Bottleneck Gallery in Brooklyn, NY. Prints will be on sale in their shop soon and I’ll let you know when!Metroid was always this crazy mess of a maze to my young mind, but when I got to the dark abyss on planet Zebes…to the lava filled caverns leading up to Mother Brain, I knew shit was about to get hairy. And when a gang of Metroids comes up on you, you better pray you’ve got a lot of energy and missiles… or else.

I was gonna comment on the other two instead, since I'm not a huge Metroid fan, but this is the best example of what I was gonna praise in the others. Unfortunately, I can't think of the right words to say what I like so much about the line work. It's organized, but... natural? You also created an exciting but direct scenario, where I've got no issue trying to figure out what the focal point is, while maintaining a sense of depth. And then there's your colors, which you usually excel at. Vibrant without being flashy, and just generally pleasing to look at.
