Description
Paper Mario/Mario Story style sprites for Chef Toad aka Chef Kinopio, a character created for Universal’s Super Nintendo World area. This is also the last Toad character I’m doing for a while.

The head chef of Kinopio’s Cafe, Chef Toad appears as an animated figure at the ordering are. He’s kind of perceptive too, as well as willing to make small talk.

While not a character in Origami King, part of the reason I chose to make this guy now was in light of the lacking design of a similar character in that game. It just bugs me, what with the implication that third-party Universal Studios had more freedom, drive and smarts than Nintendo’s own Intelligent Systems. I mean, it’s a good thing, since outsider freedom should push internal studios to try harder.
