I started an astrology series back in September 07' I finally finished it May 08' hoorah! They aren't uploaded in order of course but they will slowly make their way onto DA
With all of these astrological paintings I created a book which I've recently finished!This is my interpretation of Virgo, the Virgin of the zodiac. This painting was inspired by Gustav Klimt, an amazing symbolic painter. This painting won me first place at a local art show this year, so I am very proud of it! The idea of a Geisha symbolizing Virgo is that the Geiko are chastise themselves and are the perfect "women" of Japanese society. The angel wings are a nice touch to the Virgo spirit

I don't know if I agree with your classification of a geisha as a Virgo... I probably would have done a debutante from, say, the 1800s or something like that. But this is a truly gorgeous pieceβΒ bravo!

Unfortunately, you can't usually suggest your own stuff. Someone has to love it enough to suggest it to one of the people in charge of whatever category it is, and they have to love it enough to feature it. I wish I had one myself

It has the element 'kiku' in it which means chrysanthemums

I think this is a really cool pic of a geisha girl. I like how's she smiling, it's not fake. I don't think I can fully understand it, but I know it's awesome.
