Description
To make this map, I watched both The Lion King and The Lion King: Simba’s Pride and kept note of where things were directionally in the movies, using Pride Rock and the sun to keep my bearings. I also used just some artistic liberty, and this may be subject to change.I haven’t done anything from The Lion Guard. Many of the places are named, I’m not sure where they are directionally from Pride Rock at times.
My notes, including timestamps: design-always.deviantart.com/j…
"Origins" (Basic name, yeah) will be the title of my upcoming comic which will be, of course, about the origins of the Pridelands.

1. where do you think Zira's den is in the outlands? thelionkingvideos.weebly.com/u… This situation?
2. How did cubby Kovu cross the gorge? since he was in the Pridelands when he and Kiara met?
3. is the Dry Savannah where Simba nearly kicked the bucket?

Yess, I love answering questions!
1. I should probably put that on the map, haha! I'm going to assume somewhere in the middle. When Zira is returning with Kovu after the interaction with the Pridelanders, you can see that their land is surrounded by cliffs. For me, those would be the borders of the Sunsetlands, since the river borders it and I assume that the gorge follows that, allowing for a deep gorge between the Outlands and Sunsetlands.
2. In Simba's Pride, the river isn't super low from the top of the gorge. I'm also going that, in the end of the movie (When Kiara and Zira go tumbling down the gorge and the river breaks the dam) the river is blocked from the north up, allowing for that dry part of the gorge to be where Mufasa died.
-Also, Kiara had originally crossed a tree across the gorge and bumped into Kovu on the edge of the Outlands. They then hopped their way across the river via crocodiles and branches back to the Pridelands.
3. Yes, kind of! He was found in the really dry, cracked ground (Which would be the Great Desert), but when Timon and Pumbaa found him, then took him to a small waterhole on the edge of the desert, where there was a tropical tree. I put the Dry Savannah there as a mediator/middle ground so that it wasn't 100% desert going to 100% lush jungle.
And no problem!!! I absolutely love answering questions. I should probably put up a more detailed journaled/map/info sheet, actually!
