Description
So here are two versions of the poppy seed cake: a simple one and one with blueberries and lemons. I simply liked both, I am crazy about the poppy seed filling. It has such a delicate taste... it's not extremely sweet if you don't add fruits to it. As I said, I like my sweets with little sugar and a bit sour on occasion. Have any of you tasted this kind of food before? Would you try it for the first time?Related content

At first I thought the one one the left was a peice of pie with a whole lot of black pepper in it and I was like "Hoo boy that's gotta be a weird tasting piece o' pie" then I read the title and was like "Oh that makes way more sense" Great art Β Β

R: I had elderberry pie after a year gave us bountiful supply. Unfortunately, we forgot to deseed the fruit, and the texture was so revolting none of my fam could eat it.
Hopefully, Poppy Seed pie won't trigger that memory. I would like to try it someday... x'D

Hahaha... I never ate elderberries. Or anything derived from them. We use elderberry flowers to make a sort of fizzy juice in late spring. I wasn't sure if those fruits were poisonous or not...

R: hm, I'm not sure. I just googled it up just now and they say that people usually eat them cooked; raw can be bad for you...? The most common way is to eat them in a syrup form.

I'm generally rubbish at baking sweets, but next time they come in season I will definitely try. If I don't like it I can always blame my cooking skills.
