They do....I think this one is leaning because it's so close to the river's edge and the soil gets soft and slips away. Still, it hangs on.

That's such a really pretty park, very peaceful, on an island in the Potomac, between VA and D.C. All around it there is traffic and skyscrapers, but you'd never know it. President Teddy Roosevelt set it aside as part of the National Park System to be a wildlife refuge for all times. Thank goodness it still is. I am afraid that one day, these capitalist greed heads will find a way to turn it into condos.

We live on a hill with a bunch of trees and we have some that are leaning like that, maybe not as much but still it kind of scares me cos I think they're going to fall on our house sometime. It's a beautiful capture Jean

Thank you, Lori. It's kind of worrisome when a large tree is leaning over a house like that. But it depends. We had one leaning over our house, but an arborist looked at the situation and said that, because the leaning tree's roots were intertwined with another big, solid tree, it was very unlikely that it would break loose during a windstorm. It never did!

It is indeed autumn, and far more beautiful than I thought it would be. It was late this year because of a prolonged hot, dry period. But finally we got some rain and cooler weather, and the trees turned all kinds of pretty colors!

Thank you. I do, too! They all have different characters and "personalities," and to me, they are all very pretty and very welcome in our neighborhood. I hate to see people cut down the big ones.

Trees are wonderful friends.. They will listen, even when your cat won't.. I've loved trees since I was a child.. It's hard to see a good tree cut.. We had to do one last year.. Beautiful old tree, but it was planted to close to the house, and it was causing serious damage..

Sometimes that can happen. But some neighbors who recently moved in behind me and one house down just decided to cut everything down in their back yard. It looks horrible now, completely bare naked and ugly. They were fools, and I feel like telling them off.

Thank you! It's still autumn here, but very cold and windy. The weather man says it will snow tonight in the suburbs west of here and up in the mountains! It's getting to be that time of year, when anything can happen.
