Description
Intoxicating and overwhelming... that urge to draw.Having never been a smoker, I've struggled to understand why someone would want to pick it up. While talking with an old friend who had started the habit again after quitting for a year, he explained it to me "It's like having you own window of time; a box which you know will be filled up only with this, nothing else, your mind can wander anywhere. You hold a small corner of the world to just yourself for those few minutes"
His words surprised me, that's just how I feel whilst drawing. It's my own little space I have to to myself, where I can let my mind wander, relieve my stress, and not worry about anything else. And believe me, if I am not able to do it I get grumpy! XD Like it's my addiction. I'd never thought of it that way before...
This is in no way an avocation of starting smoking though
Was having some serious urges after traveling so much I could fit barely any drawing in, can you believe it's been a month since I posted there?! Gosh, thanks for sticking around, you're great guys
Peace, love and healthy addictions,
~Blue x

Lovely. It feels sort of urban-fantasy, to me...

I love the impact it has on the veiwers!
Very nice shading, its smooth and real.
Love the way you used a pencil and some fancy smoke to represent how addicting drawing is.

that's quite an interesting comparison! I love the vivid but limited color palette here. The design and the idea are both very nice.

I have no desire to draw right now. No itch, no inspiration, no withdrawal aggravation, nothing. I wonder what's wrong with me, because drawing is like breathing for me, or it was. Then again, maybe nothing's wrong if you stop getting an urge to draw? I understand you're insanely busy, but if you have a sec, any thoughts on this issue? What do you think about losing the urge to draw? Looking at a blank page, and it's suddenly just a piece of paper to you?

I feel you, artblock sucks. But don't worry, you'll get your creativity back

Like I said, no desire, not lack of ideas, no feelings of withdrawal, so no desire to speedpaint.

That nicely sums up the addiction of drawing!
Love the purple, dreamlike atmosphere.
Gotta say, as addictions go--drawing has to be one of the more productive ones out there, eh?
Also: Glad your friend kicked the habit. (Hope you don't kick YOURS.) ^,~

That's me. I always love drawing. It's an addiction. It's like my drug. If I don't draw, I get really moody. It's something that I need in my life. It's my drug. It's my life.

I agree with what your friend said. I'm currently working on switching onto drawing, in the end it just feels better.

I agree. Its like in school i just get an itch and have to draw, i even draw with my finger so i don't have to deal with erasing the scribble in my book but its just not the same.
