Description
Finally free, she looks up to the sky with fear and wonder as the rain splashes her face for the first time...Sequel to: Her wish was granted: to be human. To be more than a doll and plastic parts. Suddenly she was flesh and blood, laughter and guilt.
It didn't take long for the wrong people to notice her. Something so pristine, untouched, unspoiled, there was something so unhuman in her new found humanity.
They took her in and started the tests. She appeared to be perfect, her cells showed no signs of age, they thought she could be the cure, the cure for humanity.
She didn't speak of her past life, though it was written on her arm; in a tattoo which used to be a Makers Mark printed inside her hollow arm. They never could explain it.
They used her for years, her 'childhood' spent in a cell.
Her freedom won from the strangest of places, when they had exhausted all the tests, when they realise she was just human after all.
They dump her outside. Discarded for being only human.
Abandoned but free. Her humanity is a blessing and a curse... what will she do now?
After note: Her wound is self inflicted, hoping to rid herself of the mark that she's different, she takes the physical pain to try and remove the emotional pain...

Reminds me so much of stories I have heard of the Holocaust.
I have had the honour and privilege to speak with quite a few survivors throughout my life, and each one of them has inspired me and, rather than severing, restored my faith in humanity.
This is a gorgeous picture of resistance and self-discovery. I don't know how much you know about Holocaust studies and history, but even if it was unintentional, it's quite powerful. Marvelous work.

*DestinyBlue, this is one beautiful painting, which is full of cuteness and light. I love the colors you had used for this. A doll with blonde hair and blue eyes becomes a human - but she realizes that humanity is both a blessing and a curse, just like what you said. What a beautiful story about this painting. I hope there would be a sequel to this painting.

I don't have enough words to describe your work, because your work conveys more than words can. You always have such depth and meaning in your work that it is by all meanings of the word; awesome. Unlike artists who just draw, you capture all the emotions of the character has for everyone to see and every piece of yours is like a world of pure beauty.
I love the style of your work and the way they always glow like they are more than this world. And in a way they are, their beauty is more than most things dream of being which in a way is strange since this beauty is given to such sad ideas and yet till they look amazing.
Ummm so anyway I err really like your work and I even bought some of the prints at a convention and I'd love to buy more just because I love them so...
