This painting was kinda inspired by a indie game I've played a while ago called "Momodora Reverie Under The Moonlight". It's a 2D metroidvania type of game where Kaho, a priestess, travels to a foreign land to stop the spread of some sort of plague that is corrupting the world. Dispite being a 8 bit title with a cute cast of charecters, the atmosphere of the game is incredibly melancholy and dark. The art style and the music, helps convey that feeling too. I mean, just listen to this.

Haunting and beautiful at the same time. I love it!

The story of the game surprised me. I didn't expect it to drop heavy themes, such as death and hopelessness, over a relatively short experience. But, it was because of this well thought out story, that it made me appreciate the game even more. Combined that with great looking art, a beautiful soundtrack, and you have yourself a recipe for a timeless experience.

With all that said, another daunting painting is finished.
