Description
The Sovereign Gulf Commonwealth, commonly abbreviated to just 'Sov,' are the dominate faction residing in the former Gulf of Mexico. They were initially an obscure White supremacist group, but grew in power following Hurricane Zeus.

In 2051 Hurricane Zeus ravaged the Gulf Commonwealth. The american government was preoccupied with its wars in Mexico and China, and was lenient to the outcries of the people. With the Gulf's faith in the United States faded they aligned themselves to a new power: The Sovereign Watch.

The Sovereign Watch was originally a white supremacist society, following in the footstep's of the South's former insurgents the Confederate States of America. Their ideals were reminiscent to the C.S.A, especially their attitude to the status of African-Americans.

After the bombs fell a new enemy arose from the ashes of nuclear decay: Ghouls, Super-Mutants, and other abominations. In 2087 the Sovereigns and their rivals, the Ravens, united to defeat their common enemy. They drafted the current constitution, called the Ten Commandments. Above their creeds was the verse 'Love thy neighbor as thyself,' referring to equality among all Sovereign citizens.

The flag shows two crossed swords, representing the might of the Ravens and Sovereigns under one nation. The star represents their liberty and independence, always protected by the arms of its citizens and soldiers.

The yellow-black color palette was inspired from the New Orleans Saints and the uniforms of the Confederate soldiers.
