Description After the British surrender to the Germans in 1946 the Nazis quickly occupied their overseas colonies. The Axis invasion of Canada and Newfoundland lead to heavy casualties, with 200,000 axis casualties and 37,500 Americans. The Japanese invasion of Hawaii and Alaska diverted the United States from the eastern front, leading to the eventual incorporation of Canada into the Third Reich.

Seeing the heavy casualties in the Canadian campaign, Adolf Hitler believed a nuclear attack was the most humane and simplest path to victory. On August 6th, 1947, Kleiner Junge was dropped on Washington D.C, killing 800,000; followed by Dicker Mann in Baltimore on August 9th, killing 850,000. President John Bricker announces his surrender to the Germans on August  15th.

The time between 1947-1954 is known as the Second Reconstruction, a seven-year occupation under German martial law. In 1954 the American State became the successor to the United States, adopting the Peace Constitution, written in conjecture by Nazi supervisors. The treaty gave the American State the right to elect its own Congress and Administrator, but the judicial branch of government was reserved by the Third Reich. Following the demise of D.C the capital was relocated to Philadelphia, the Supreme Court transferred to Emden, Germany.

The American State inherited most of the United State's possessions, except for Alaska and the Pacific territories, which were ceded to the Empire of Japan, and Long Island and the NYC metropolitan area, which became a German colony, renamed New Berlin. The Channel Islands were also ceded to Germany, used as a military outpost in the Pacific Ocean, to ensnare their growing enemy Japan.

The incumbent administrator of the American State is Oz Cross, having recently been reelected for a third term. His primary goal is for the revitalization of the American economy, restoring the prosperity from the twenties. His 'New Deal' saved America from its twenty-year Great Depression, and has made him an iconic hero alongside Abraham Lincoln and George Washington.
