Battlecruiser – a ship with battleship level armament and cruiser level armor; typically faster than a battleship because the reduction in armor allowed mounting of heavier propulsion machinery
basically its the size of a cruiser, sacrificing armour for higher speed and hittign power.
So its smallwer than a battleship.

i think you got the destoyer and frigate mix up.
i thought the frigate was smaller then a desroyer?

Using the parlance of Old English naval tradition,the frigate was faster and with lighter armed than ships of the line, and was uswed used for patrolling and escort with good endurance. (so basically the smallest of ships capable of operating on its own)
Te destroyer was a fast and highly maneuverable warship, traditionally incapable of independent action (originally developed to counter the threat of torpedo boats)
So in this world, the frigate is larger. allthough in some Real world navies the lines between the two are blurred and regularly crossed.
