Soviets would never name a battleship in "honor" of czar.

They do in my world.

Even in the "honor" of exact czar who massacred one revolution and was dethroned by another?

I think your getting reality and fantasy mixed up here,
This is a Space Battleship from my world,
The people called it 'Imperator Nickolai II'Β
because they wanted to, and they really like it.

But it's Soviet.Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DevilDalek In reply to Tr01ka [2015-03-16 08:57:51 +0000 UTC]

And in my world it fits perfectly.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tr01ka In reply to DevilDalek [2015-03-16 13:22:00 +0000 UTC]

It makes no sense, no matter if it's your world or mine.Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DevilDalek In reply to Tr01ka [2015-03-16 14:44:04 +0000 UTC]

That's your perception of it, and you were not the one who created the world.
In my world it is perfectly fine.

Is there Soviet battleship under name of Adolf Hitler, too?Β

Don't be ridiculous,
my art and the worlds I create are not springboards for your own personal belief system, please stop using them as such or attempting to impress your ideologies on them.

If it is that important to you the naming system is as follows.

For this world the Soviets (Council of Worlds) do not name their ships 'Battleship, Cruiser etc, they are named after ranks from the Roman army.
Imperator = Command Dreadnought
Legatus = Battleship
Centurion - Cruiser
etc

Nikolai II refers to Nikolai Gunin son of Nikolai Β Gunin (hence the II part) He was a noted commander that was instrumental in the formation of the council and a hero of the highest order.
All the first born males of the Gunin family take Nikolai as their first name out of honor, they are currently up to NikolaiΒ XXIII.

What I try to imply is that you make Soviets name their battleship after their historical ENEMY. "This is my universe" is not an excuse for this. Nobody, in any of the fictional universes, would ever name their ship after their enemy. Β

But after you explained this, it makes sense in contest. Question is, are you ready to repeat your explanation every time someone gets confused with it not making sense out of contest?Β

DevilDalek In reply to Tr01ka [2015-03-16 20:23:18 +0000 UTC]

My world and my rules, if you are ready to stop attempting to assign real world values to a fantasy world and suspend disbelief as say, a Space battleship would require you to do so, then please enjoy it, and I would be happy and enjoy conversing on it and the world it comes from.
If someone however thinks I should adhere to their belief system just because they became upset by something within my work, then they are sadly mistaken and I will continue to regard such people with ridicule reserved only for the likes of grammar nazis.

As to your second point, this picture has been up for some eight years and so far you are the only one to mention this.
So, I'll take my chances.

Finally the soviets when with some style. Lets facde it their way of doing things is usually the direct approach, and very ugly. However when it comes to firepower, OUCH.

You should redesign this in the style of the C&C Red Alert's Soviet Dreadnoughts. I'd like to see V3 missile launchers on this baby.

Well, the ship was built in Doga, and the whole scene renderted in Vue de Esprite 4.

DevilDalek In reply to omega12008 [2008-06-06 20:03:45 +0000 UTC]

Well, practive and rendering in another program..
