Yet another under-represented bastard graces my collection...
Seriously, few really talk about King "Pride" Bradley, easily the masterpiece of his creator and the cruelest of the homunculi. And when you see the competition, hoo boy, it's not a light claim.
Unlike the other homunculi, who either are tormented by their nature as incomplete or have an inferiority complex, Bradley is NOT bothered by such thoughts in the least. He considers himself PERFECT, superior to both humans and homunculi and shows no fear throughout the show (except for his Achilles Heel...). He has the resilience and "immortality" that go with being a homunculus and he's capable of having an offspring like a human...unlike most humans he sees said son as a trinket of his superior completeness.
He only respects and goes along his creator and that's about it.
But his biggest achievement is his poker face as this grandfatherly figure ... and when the masks are off you discover that the greatest monsters are often hidden in plain sight. That "I have the Ultimate Eye"statement he did to Martel ? That was a gut punch for me ! I forgot the guy was a homunculus and he reminds that fact by executing Martel within Alphonse... who's a kid in the great scheme of things. That's how you make cruelty an ART !
