My 3rd attempt at doing a portrait, probably my best one so far, HOWEVER i had to scan it in 2 pieces and despite my best efforts some traces of a scan line still remains..So there he is, the Joker from the Dark Knight batman film.
I thought Heath Ledger's performance in that was superb and perfectly captured the Joker's personality. RIP Heath Ledger.
Any critique/comments would be grealy appreciated

Yes, indeed, RIP, I loved him as the Joker. Actually, I have to admit that I liked him overall concerning the movie...he just brought the most charisma...

Heath Ledger was a great actor, and i just cant stress how good he was in the Dark Knight. Like, seriously, he literally transformed himself into not only the joker, but the whole setting, he gives off such a unique atmostphere.

This is really nice! You captured his likeness perfectly and I love the rough style, most pencil pieces I see on here are very smooth and it gets a little boring after a while, it's nice to see something a bit different. Good job on this!

Well, i personally dont like to blend an awful lot, and i use abit of hatching in most drawings i do.

Did you try the clone brush? Sometimes just adding a bit of grey with a 1px brush can help too. I hate when that happens to my drawings

no i didnt try the clone brush, i just did charcoal overlay with opacity lowered and smudged a little.

Yeah My 3 in 1 HP Printer has a scanner in it. I find it's really suckish for drawings for some strange reason.

well, your lineart is pretty decent, you should try rendering them properly on A3 instead of leaving them as scribbles in your books or somthin
