Description
I'm practicing sepia toning, tell me if you like it or it needs work.Script by ~Lunaura
Art by ~DevonianFossil
Skit illustration, bristol board and India Ink with minimal computer editing.
I promised I would finish this skit, and I did! Only a few months late... To Lunaura, I apologize it took so long to illustrate your skit, I had it all sketched and then it was lost for a few months before I found it and inked it. I had to change some of the script to accomodate the pacing of the panels, but I tried to keep it as true to the script as possible.
To anyone considering artists for their comic scene team, this the current standard of my artistic skills and lettering.
It's done!

Oh, Beka. And poor George, although I have to admit that I'm glad this happened
Otherwise think what our beloved Rogue might have grown up like

She never specified what "getting your life right" meant, so for all we know he could have decided that being the King of the Rogues fit the bill, instead of something on Beka's side of the law.

Yeah, from what I've heard she's a real no-nonsense character, it's hard to believe she's related to a fellow like George.

Yeah it is. It makes you wonder who really raised George? Elani is a good law abiding woman after all.

True, but to me Eleni seemed to be the kind of parent who understands when her offspring wants to or is destined for another path, even if it isn't one they would have picked for their kid. If I ever become a parent, I hope I'll be like that.
Plus, the Tortallan idea of what constitutes law-abiding is probably dramatically different from ours, for all we know something appalling to us like bribery might be considered normal-but-frowned-upon practice.

True. and After all it is shown in The Beka Cooper books that the Rogue played a vital role in the life of the city back then.

(And looks like a mis-post has already introduced you to sivvus, one of the Tortall Comics Project's many talented artists.)
Yep, that's Beka and George Cooper, but if you haven't read Alanna's quartet, Song of the Lioness, you haven't seen how truly badass he is.
If you liked those books, why don't you take a look at the gallery? We are 2 weeks from the start of the comic production stage, but there is quite a lot of pre-production artwork that you won't find in other groups.

Interesting angles and expressions. I love the slight differences in the nose shapes, distinguishes the characters. I also like those deep shadows on the foreground character.

Thank you, I had a lot of fun with the inking on this one. Since one person is a ghost and the other corporeal, I made the outline around George very thick, and I really like the look of that.
