And again the professor asked "what do u mean by fertilization ?"
We were having a biology class in the 10th standard and he had told me to
stand up and had asked me this .Maybe he had noticed I wasnt paying attention

But all I had on my mind was Sophia
who was sitting in the first bench listening aptly to the prof , but now
looking towards me as I was supposed to answer . I answer ??? Let alone the
fact that I didnt know what was fertilization , all that was on my mind
was how she had smiled the other day when I gave her back the mobile phone
she left in class the day before . It was evening when we had met . She had said
"Thanks!!" . I cudn't help but say "U look beautiful!" . And she said "Thanks!!"
again and left . That was all . But after that day I have caught her eyes at times
looking towards me . So that day in biology class I was almost whole of the time
looking towards her in expectation when wud she be graceful enough to give
me another look . I was hungry for that one glance she wud give ...

"Mr. Dev what do u mean by fertilization ?"

That suddenly brought my gaze back to the prof . I nudged my friend sitting
next to me . He was nothing better than me , but still did some studying
at times . So he wrote on the desk "Its how seeds or babies happen" . That
clue confused me even more . And I saw Sophia looking towards me . That was
it ! I had to do something . So I told ,

"Its how babies happen sir !"

Prof said , "Meaning .."

I was good in english u know !!

So when I was going outside when class got over , I "accidentally" Slipped
beside Sophia's desk and ... well ... secretly gave her what I wrote .

So this was my first love . Ofcourse life moved on . We went around for sometime .
Those were the craziest days of my life .What I found was she was crazier than me !!

But maybe , the world didnt like it. So ultimately we fell apart .

Few days ago I heard she is in a rehabilitation centre . She had moved
into very high society , did drugs and all that came with fame , tried a suicide but
fortunately failed . I went to see her . Her parents have died . She was alone .
So , I brought her to my home . She barely recognizes me u know . All she can
recollect is my name . She likes "Dev" . But cant seem to associate me with the Dev
she knew . Maybe I have changed . But let me tell u one thing she hasnt changed a bit !

Right now she's sitting on the windowsil infront of me . Like she always sat in that
first bench . And I am looking towards her . Although now instead of desiring it , I am
afraid of her gaze which always seems to ask "Why ??" ....
