Description
Most of PR steers away from realistic violence, settling for very fantasy oriented stylization. This episode though,features the very probable possibility of vehicular violence. While the evil car,Tankenstein,doesn't actually hit anyone,it comes close several times. It zaps Carlos,TJ and Cassie to another dimension or planet,or maybe just the dessert,and then goes after Ashley and Andros while they're in Ashley's car.
There's a scene where Astronema talks to Tankenstein,and it responds by flashing it's lights. This is the same way Lightning Cruiser and Storm Blaster would communicate. I wonder if Tankenstein is some relation.
In its pursuit of Andros and Ashley, Ashley's Galaxy Glider is run over.
They are then zapped to the other Rangers' location. Zhane shows up in his new Rover and helps them take down Tankenstein. Astronema revives Tankenstein in giant monster form. This leads to a pretty impressive Megazord battle,which unfortunately ends in the the Mega Voyager's Voyager's destruction.
This is the last episode before the finale of Power Rangers in Space, as well as the Zordon Era as a whole. The loss of some Zords and arsenal at this point do a good job of showing the raised stakes.
Up on Astronema's Ship,she and Ecliptor are planning something, and Elgar pops in. I'm realizing now how pointless his presence was this whole time. It's nice to have around some hangers-on from previous seasons, but I do wonder what his purpose was intended to be.
Next up is part one of Countdown to Destruction.
