Picking right up from where the last episode left off...
Ryan doesn't know what to do, save JB and Kaitlin, or Darkheart. He chooses to go after Darkheart first, as Professor Hart doesn't know where exactly the others are.
JB and Kaitlin are still trapped in Grimlord's slowly closing iron maiden. They don't want to transform, they're certain Percy couldn't keep their identities a secret. They come up with a plan. Kaitlin kisses Percy, causing him to faint. Okay then. They then transform and break out with Percy. Percy wakes up and runs into a tree. JB and Kaitlin go to find Ryan.
Some Skugs sneak up on Ryan. He takes them out in time to see Darkheart fighting off Grimlord's minions. Ryan tries to follow, but gets attacked by more Skugs.
Darkheart almost escapes, but gets wounded. Ryan transforms and rescues him.
The Troopers meet up at the lab, Professor Hart scans Darkheart's memories. Using the VR Visors, the Troopers see them, Ryan's father, Tyler Steele, and Professor Hart, creating the VR Troopers. Ryan is overcome. "That's my father... Darkheart is really my father!"
Ryan uses his VR Visor to communicate with Darkheart. He can see his father's face through his helmet. He's been brainwashed, and doesn't remember who he really is.
At the newspaper, Percy's photos turn out to be unusable, because he was holding his camera backwards.
Back at the lab, the Troopers come up with the idea to transfer Ryan's childhood memories to Darkheart, maybe it will unlock his true self.
It works, but Tyler Steele goes back to Virtual Reality. He tells Ryan it's his responsibility to stop Grimlord.
Ryan goes after him, while JB and Kaitlin stay behind to deal with Grimlord's minions who are out searching for Tyler Steele.
Darkheart fights through some mutants, and Reunites with Ryan. They agree to work together against Grimlord.

Another intense episode, though with a few hiccups.
The passage of time seems to be fiddled with in these episodes. Last time it was Percy apparently spending the night in a tree, this time it's Grimlord going back to reality only to return right back to Virtual Reality.
The scene where Kaitlin kisses Percy is cartoonish, it clashes a bit with the tone. It also doesn't receive much follow up. Percy's motivation switches right back to wanting to submit his photos to the newspaper.
There's a running b-story with Percy opening the darkroom door at the newspaper, ruining the film being developed inside. Woody is angry with him, and that's about it. Pretty pointless, but sadly not Percy's worst moment.
The scene where the Troopers see Darkheart's memory of being Tyler Steele and working with Professor Hart is strange. It comes across almost casual, while it feels like the type of scene that should have more gravity.
Ryan's scenes with his father are definitely the highlight. When they reunite in VR, and then again on the battlefield, it truly feels like an achievement. A major goal has been reached, Ryan has found his father, at last! There is still some uncertainty, will his father remain working with them? Can he be human again?
There are still two more parts to this story, and I'm looking forward to them more than ever!
