Warning: For those of you with no sense of humor, there's nothing I can do to help you.I am so going to hell for this... or reincarnated into a slug or something. I got into a religious debate on the forums again. And when I asked the person if they believe in the Juedo-Christian God, what reason do they have for not believing in the Gods of all the other cultures, I thought up this joke. As soon as I was off the forum, I went right to work on this one. I really should have gone to bed an hour ago, but I just had to finish. For those of you who are about to ask, the Deity appearing is Shiva. Thus the guy fist-pumping on the last panel would be a Hindu.

I'm an atheist, but I've always said that if a god were real and they just happen to be right, i'd find that god and wave and say Hi. I may even ask how their day was. :3

I don't ever force my religion on others. If they're happy with their faith (or lack thereof) then I'd only be a nuisance. I only offer it if one of my friends has, like, hit rock bottom and doesn't know how to get back up.

You should be congratulated just based on the fact that no major flaming occurred due to your comic strip. But it's a valuable lesson too. Respect other people's beliefs and don't force your own onto others whether it be any god or materialism you believe in.

I have BA and MA degrees in Religious Studies and this really cracks me up. Fortunately, after all these years, I have come to the conclusion that Divinity is beyond our ability to conceptualize or even remotely grasp it with our limited human perceptions and intellects. All religions are efforts to contain, codify and gain control of the experience of Divinity and to insert moralistic, social concepts and controls into the process. All cultures use religions as an appeal to authority and a justification for what they desire to do anyway. As a result, all religious conflicts and debates are by their nature, absurd. Thanks for posting and I am sure Lord Shiva is chuckling up there on Mt. Kaillas.
