Description

Ported to OBJ from the fan created model made for the Starfleet Command (SFC) series of video games. Based on the original Rickover concept by Eric "Jackill" Kristiansen as published in his fanon Jackill's Starfleet Reference Manual Volume 1 back in the day, and itself based on the Franchise Miranda class starships as first seen on-screen with TWOK's USS Reliant (NCC-1864). An obvious "light dreadnought" style upgrade for the Miranda/Avenger class once you think about it. This has been done two different ways by two different respected classic Trek tech uber-fans; this is the later one by Eric. I have the other one in a separate entry. Pick whichever one you prefer and go with it.

Given everything that the Feddies have going during the TMP era, especially during its first half, may I humbly suggest that if you use this, then make this only an upgrade for existing Miranda or Avenger types that gets done during a major refit no earlier than the late TMP era? No new builds, again per above reasons? I can but suggest.

This is and remains fanon unless the Franchise says otherwise.

ASIDE - Like the TMP era Klingon D-8C betleH class command cruiser (see separate entry), the main thing you're gaining with this upgrade is the third warp engine. That give you extra power for maintaining your shields while you can use the other two warp engines for everything else (weapons, etc.).
