Description

Ported to OBJ from the fan created model by Mark Wallace for the Starfleet Command (SFC) series of video games. Based on the original design by Stephen V. Cole and the Amarillo Design Bureau (ADB) for the Star Fleet Battles (SFB) tabletop sci-fi war game. Preview picture posed in XNALara XPS. NO MODEL DOWNLOAD.

This is the smallest regular Starfleet starship combatant class in the SFB gaming continuity, although technically it's a "what-if" that never existed. Huh? This was explained back in the day by ADB as the Feddies preferring to build bigger and better small combat craft than everyone else (i.e. fighter and attack shuttles like the F-14, F-15, and A-10) instead of developing fast patrol ships like they did ... and, of course, ADB turned right around and presented SFB gamers with a "theoretical" Feddie PF, the Thunderbolt class (as it was later named) for those who wanted to play with one. (chuckle)

There's been several fan takes on a Feddie SFB PF type model for the various Trek video games over the years. Mr. Wallace probably had the second best one, and like the better one by Thu11s (IMHO) his is a TMP era design, with some little nods to both the Phase 2 Enterprise and the later Excelsior thrown in to boot, with just a hint of the TNG era to spice it up even more. I'll have to admit that I don't like it as much as the Thu11s version, but that's strictly a personal thing. Jeff's is very easy to find as compared with the Thu11s version (Jeff's is in more than one SFC fan mod pack), so there you go.

This is for all of you SFB/SFC types in the audience who need or want a TMP era Feddie PF as opposed to the various TOS era takes out there. The rest of you might consider using this as a TMP era or post-TMP supplement to or replacement for Todd Guenther's Akyazi family in the small starship combatant category. You also might consider it as an alternate for or supplement to Taldren's Okinawa class frigate (KA/SFC) for those of you coming from that direction ... or you can go your own way with it in your own unique direction. After all, Trek is a multiverse. (big grin)
