In some threads of the Trek multiverse - in particular those influenced by SFB/SFC or the like - the Repulse class were new builds that came about during the early part of the TMP era. Repulse was intended as an inexpensive starship class that was essentially the same as a TMP era upgraded Ptolemy class heavy destroyer (Guenther, FSCC) but with both warp engines pulled closer together to improve warp dynamics and thus increase maneuverability given its newer and more powerful LN-64 linear warp engines. For those of you who don't know about the TOS era Ptolemy but are probably thinking about later fanon efforts, it's almost the same as the TOS/TMP fanon Pallada/Polaris class light cruiser (or heavy destroyer in some sources, chuckle) without the small secondary hull and with both warp engines turned sideways instead of mounted normally and space out a bit more than Constution. "Oh, yeah!" you say. (grin) Anyway, back to the subject. Repulse in its original form was considered a heavy destroyer (HDD) in most Trek multiverse threads that include it or something like it and that's the form you see at the bottom of the preview piccy. There was also a second form very close to the first one but with both phototorp systems removed and replaced with multiple drone missile racks in the same lower dorsal housing, as well having extra racks installed in key spots elsewhere on her hull. That's the version of Repulse in the upper left of the preview piccy. This was done so Repulse could replace various aging converted members of the old Texas class (SFB) and serve as an escort cruiser (CE) or light drone cruiser (CLG) for Federation Starfleet shuttlecarrier battlegroups. One can but presume that she had an upgraded electronics suite similar to our timeframe's AEGIS system for tracking and/or guiding all of those drones, although the model doesn't show it. That's all I've been able to find on the TMP era Repulse class, but you can probably key off of either Ptolemy or Pallada/Polaris for anything else you might need.

This is strictly fanon. How or even if you use this in your own thread(s) of the Trek multiverse is up to you.

TRIVIA - Repulse in her CE/CLG form is the fanon Feddie counterpart to the fanon Klink Valkris class (see separate entry).
