The man is back, all you Larry Watts fans, and I know all of you will be pleased as punch at that.  XD  I can do that, now that we're back in time.

Brandy's introduction places the story she's telling between Season 1 and Season 2 of the original Autumn Spring, between the episodes "The Party" and "Beach Party Richland."

... our big vacation we went on with your Grandpa and Grandma Hansen - per the events depicted in the Autumn Spring Season 2 opener, "Beach Party Richland."

his morning walk ... later on my jog - Daily exercise routines as established for both Larry and Brandy in Season 1 of Autumn Spring, and which they kept up for most of their lives.

"Zip-A-Dee-Do-Dah" is the most famous song to come out of the Disney feature film Song of the South, based on three of the best known Uncle Remus stories by author Joel Chandler Harris.  The song was an instant hit back in the day and is still loved even today by many of us, needless controversies about the movie itself notwithstanding (wink).  This is also a shout-out to the original Autumn Spring, as Larry sings this in one of its early episodes not long after he becomes friends with Brandy.  You can take it as red he's thinking about Brandy and their recent commitment to each other as he sings this.  Anyway, here's a YouTube link to the original Disney version as sung by special Academy Award winning actor James Baskett (Uncle Remus) in the movie:

Mr. Bluebird's on my shoulder - An ironic reference, given the way I use the concept of the bluebird in Season 3 of Autumn Spring.

I wouldn't quit your day job - Larry has no talent for singing but he does it anyway, as previously established in multiple episodes of Autumn Spring.  This comes from my own mother, who by her own admission has never been able to sing but also does it anyway whenever the mood strikes her.  BTW her maiden name is Watts, and that is from where I got Larry's last name.

Remember folks, we're back in time between Season 1 and Season 2 of the original Autumn Spring.  That means we're dealing with the mean and cranky Lester Dent, who's still mad at the world after his beloved wife passed away (old age) instead of the nicer Lester from later in the series.  That's why he's acting the way he does in Brandy's story.  Also don't forget he's still the manager of the Richland Townhomes at this point in time, with all that implies.  That's why he's mowing the yard.  Yes, he could have hired someone to do it, but doing so himself probably helps him to keep his mind off of other things.  You know?

Here's your sign - A famous and beloved comedy routine by country comedian Bill Engvall, which you can look up and enjoy for yourself.  This is my shout-out to him and all the laughs he's brought me over the years.

... her mom meeting you at Jack's bar ... - Per events depicted in the Autumn Spring Season 1 final episode, "The Party."

She thought you could be an all right guy ... - as Brandy's mother Jennifer told Lester to his face during "The Party."
