As long as we've returned to the world of "classic" Autumn Spring, we may as well get reintroduced to some of its other residents, especially for you new folks just tuning in who may not be familiar with the old series. Mabel "Mama" Nelson is one of the most beloved characters from the original series. She's Larry and Brandy's next door neighbor - well, living across the way in the other apartment building with her retired husband Rufus - and she's one of the most wonderful women you will ever meet, although she IS a bit of a busybody and makes it her business to both know about and to intervene if necessary regarding anyone in her, uhm, "domain." (smile) You'll get to see her husband Rufus on the next page. She's based on a composite of three different older wonderful women I have known in my life, two black and one white, and her model is a reuse of the unused character of "Ruby" from Capcom's Resident Evil: Outbreak series. She was originally envisioned as a sort of Mrs. Kravitz nosy neighbor type (Bewitched) but she quickly evolved into so much more, and I as the author am glad she did. She quickly became a on-site mother of sorts for Larry and Brandy, if you know what I mean and I think many of you do. Anyway, here's a link for her CG model:
