Description
i have to thank for the base piece used to create this prop! He went looking in his closet and discovered that he had one that had ceased functioning. This was painted with a mixture of black and white acrylic paint for the main body. the piece on the side and the symbols were done using a CD marking pen, and the buttons are blue sharpie.

Is this the only one you made? If you can cast more, not worry about painting, i will buy 1 from you.

This was actually a repaint of the electronic one.

Good luck! Those get expensive! I did this with a 3-1 of White and Grey Acrylic. It dried pretty fast and hasn't come off yet!

That is easily corrected after the fact by drybrushing alternating coats of black and white (2 black:1 white). That should work to fix your color issue. Just go lightly with it.

It's too bad you dont commission these. I would totally buy one.

That's just it. The base piece was the legitimate toy. All it needs are batteries and it would work again.

Oh I know. But they're super expensive on eBay nowadays. Cheapest I've found now is like $60. It's hard to find any that are just for parts. I wouldn't mind if it DIDN'T work. I just want one for a prop for a future cosplay.

You may not be looking at what those sellers are offering. I found a play where they have them for $20. And that only after emailing the seller and asking if they would be willing to sell only one item. The best set I found for $60 came with the Adventures 02 D-terminal.

you're welcome. I can give you the paint ration I used though. It is as follows:
1 Part Black Laquer (makes the surface shiny)
2-3 Parts Flate White House Paint (Interior preferred, as the Laquer will make it pretty well water resistant)
This should give you the grey tone seen in the animation.

how did you make the digivce and what materials did you use?

The digivice was one of the old toys. They (for reasons unknown to me) decided to never release a grey one. So I took it apart and mixed the grey myself with a mixture of White paint and Black Laquer. The buttons were done with a blue sharpie, as I wanted to still be able to depress them.
I'm pretty sure that it I put the parts back in, the device would still work.

It is one of the electronic toys. I unscrewed the back and removed the board and screen.

Wow, this looks amazing! I've tried finding Digimon Adventure Digivices on Ebay also, and the only ones I can find are like $40 or higher plus like $20 shipping. It's sad. I should've bought one of these when I had the chance. Now all I have is my green Adventure 02 Digivice.

dang.. .that sucks. I'm gonna be trying to get photos of me and my sister as taichi and hikari before we leave so that it is in a more controled environment. other than that, I'm gonna be uploading some shots later of part of my Adventures 02 group, as well as some more for my Adventures 01 stuff.

I never thought I would say it but... Damn, that is one hell of the digivice you got there. I really can't wait to see up so close and personal.
It is great to see something old, and covered in dust while we're at it, get changed into something even better (and have more reference to Digimon's digivice), even through it doesn't work. It is still awesome through.
