Description
Here are the finished products of my labor. My brother, psytitan , wanted digivice props for a future cosplay, and found a pair of cheap Japanese toys. One was clear-blue, the other was clear-orange. He tasked me with painting them to look like the ones from the TV show, and thus my quest began. Gathering materials, disassembling, sanding, buffing, primer-ing, mixing paint, layering, gloss-coating, and finally re-assembling these turned them into as close as I could get to screen-accurate.Honestly, mixing the right colors was probably the most difficult part, but it was all very fun. I now own the previously-orange one as "payment" for my labor! Worth it? I THINK SO! I'll upload some pictures of the work-in-progress into my scraps later.

Hey, would you ever make any more of these? I am looking in getting one for my mimi digimon cosplay (her one is green and orange). How much would that be?

Well, I have all the tools to do it, I'm just lacking the actual digivice toy. If you can find me the clear plastic digivice toys, I can help ^^

You know what I realized would be really neat: If one could install a vibrator and LED lights inside so when you press a button, it changes the color and starts shaking, just like the ultimate digivolutions on the television.

I'm not sure how well the color change would go, as the paint is several layers and a primer thick, but if you took out the circuitboard inside I bet you could cram a rotation rumbler in there.

I suppose that'd have to be a strong LED bulb. But the rumbler would work. I wonder if we could get it to make that squealing sound too?

the circuit board in it already has a beeping sound, so some sort of soundboard could fit. I don't know if it could fit with the rumbler in there too, though.

Yeah, these are just random thoughts. Nothing to take seriously.

If we could make that work, then it should be taken seriously lol

Whoa, excellent job on these! Very nicely done, they're lovely. As the Nem said, it makes you think Digimon could be real.

TYVM! ^^ I'd like to think that M Theory makes Digimon real in some universe somewhere.
lol...THE Nem.

Oh man. This is amazing. I remember those clear-plastic ones, and I would never have guessed these started out like that! It looks like you did a very clean paint job. It makes me all nostalgic and optimistic, like Digimon could be real. :3 Very cool!
