Bleh...couldn't think of a nice title for this one...grr.This is an entry to *mizzd-stock 's "All the Colors" contest. Hopefully it's obvious that my main color is blue. I love blue..my favorite is cobalt blue. I always think of water when I think of blue so knew I wanted my image in the water....and mermaids are always a challenge for me so why not have 3?
There are a few more days left to enter so get yours in soon! 
I am still suffering from lack of inspiration...hence my multiple contest entries lately. Seems I need someone to point me in a direction to get something creative done. hehe

But when I see works that are clearly great, and SO close to being very special, and there's only 1 thing or so blocking it from being mamazing I can't keep my mouth shut

Well I will always welcome constructive critique...I find it very helpful.
I have uploaded a updated version now. When I went back I found that I somehow managed to get my light ray layer in the wrong order so it was in front of the subjects which didn't help since one of the rays was going right in front of your face.
I also did a bit of painting in an effort to make things a big clearer so hopefully that looks ok. Moving the light ray layer also affected other areas of the image...hopefully not in a negative way. heh Please feel free to let me know if you see anything else that needs tweaking.
I will get the close up of Lyra uploaded tonight and let you know when it's there, but before I do I just wanted to clarify what you wanted in regards to that. Did you just want her alone or you and her?

Only one thing if I may add it...try and place some of the hair along with her chin/sides of the face to make the lines seem more 'cleare' and not so 'glowy' as they are now... if you know what I mean
hehe yeah I always keep my psd file for a while as I always find things to correct in the days after

I think I know what you mean. To me it seems like her face is sort of floating there ...so maybe add some hair near and by it to try and diminish that effect is what I think you are saying. I'll see if I can pull that off. hehe
