Here is my entry for the weekly challenge "Coffee mug." It's a Tiki coffee mug
Modeled and rendered in Softimage|XSI, the mug took about an hour off and on to model, and then procedural textures were used for the wood grain...which was kinda half-assed, I will admit it. Hey thanks! It actually wasn't that hard, I modeled it like an exaggerated face. Started off with the mouth, then the eyes followed by the nose. After that area was done i just extruded the outer edges and pulled them back like a cylinder rather than a sphere. It was pretty fun really, I just wish I'd spent more time on giving it a decent background!

i agree, rendering should not count as much in a modeling/texturing competition. gladly the monthly competitions don't do that yet
